Vision Stimulation exercises are needed for those with severe Cortical Visual Improvement (CVI). CVI is a visual impairment that is due to brain injury and not due to ocular or physical issues. Any damage due to perinatal hypoxia or hypoglycemia or seizures can cause visual impairment.
Vision stimulation in the form of lights, balls, vision stimulation cards, vision boxes has been found to stimulate the brain and thereby improve the visual function of the child.
Eye contact, eye fixation, eye tracking and facial recognition may improve with good vision stimulation exercises.
